This bag is a very special product because its front with the beautiful braided pattern is sewn entirely by hand. "Smocking" is called this great technique, which originated in England and has been used since the Middle Ages. By hand, certain points of the fabric are sewn together so that a pattern is created.

Who is the eBook suitable for?

It is an advantage if you have sewn before and have used different materials. As long as you know how to use a sewing machine and have some patience and perseverance, you can also make the bag if you don't have much sewing experience.

What sewing skills are needed to sew the smocked handbag?

This bag requires both hand and machine sewing. From a sewing point of view, the steps are quite simple and you can do them well even if you are a beginner. What could be a bit trickier is combining different materials, as they can slip more easily when sewing and you therefore have to hold them tightly. So you should definitely have a little patience, then you will manage it well.

In what format are the pattern and instructions provided?

The PDF file is designed for DIN A4 format. You can print out the pages and stick them together according to the markings.
